Happy Monday!! Well, at least it is a happy Monday for me! Why? Because it is Mojo Monday, of course!! LOL Each Monday I cannot wait to check out what awesome sketch is to be discovered over at the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog to get my creative juices going. Really, I am being totally serious here!
For my card I chose Lizzie from InStyle Stamps. I am learning how to shade with my Copics and highlight with my white gel pen and am pretty tickled with how she turned out! I have not perfected staying in the lines with these markers yet, so I chose to emboss the image to create a barrier between colors. I LOVE the way it turned out and will be using this technique more often.
The papers I chose to use are from a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pack called Lilykate. I chose these because I had already colored the image and needed to find papers that matched! LOL
The supplies used for this card are:
Stamps: InStyle Stamps Lizzie, CTMH Say it in Style
Paper: Basic Grey Lilykate
Embellishments: Sparkles Chloe's Closet, Paper Flower, ribbon and cordoroy button CTMH
Ink: CTMH Lilac Mist
Hope this has inspired you to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch this week!
Stop back by to check out my FIRST Magnolia Stamps image! I can't wait to share!!

Life has a way of throwing us curveballs when we least expect it. What we do and how we react to those curveballs, is up to us. Who would have thought that at the age of 45 I would be starting my life over, reinventing myself and finally figuring out what I want to be when I grow up. Well, ALMOST! lol I want to play with ink, paper and ribbon and share Stampin' Up's wonderful products and opportunities with you!! I am THRILLED to be part of this company and am looking forward to seeing where the wind takes me. Happy Stamping!!

Great card - really like the paper you've used. Goes well with the other colours you've used.

I LOVE that stamp....the highlights really work. I will have to try embossing my images and see if that helps me. What embossing powder did you use?
The card is brilliant!
A fabulous card, love the colours. hugs rachxx
Thanks guys for the compliments!! I was really unsure about whether I really liked the way this card turned out. You know how usually a card looks better in person than it does on the computer? Well, I think that I like this card better on the computer....LOL
Sarah, I inked this image in Versamark, then in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it onto my CS. I then used Fine Detail Embossing Powder over it and embossed.
Another way to do this is to use a Black craft ink and Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I have only tried this method 1 time at a card class that i go to and it was using a sentiment stamp. But it did turn out nice.
Hope this helps!
you did a great job on the challenge..your coloring is fantastic

Oooh, so cute Jen! You did a fantastic job with your shading and the highlighting with the gel pen! I think the highlighting adds a bit of sparkle to an image. Love the pretty colors that you used too!!
