Another Mojo Monday Sketch Card......#183

I am so excited that I have been able to participate in the past 2 Mojo Monday Sketch Challenges!  It gave me an excuse to pull out the new Fanfare Level 2 papers and play with them.  It is pretty sad to me that I purchased these papers clear back in the consultant preview period in January, but have just now pulled them out of the bag to actually use them instead of just drooling over them.  WOW Was that a run-on sentence or what??  LOL

Anyhoo......trying to find a stamp set that would not only work with these papers BUT also had to fit the area that I had to stamp in was quite a challenge for me.  Which reminds me of something that I was talking to my friend Cindy about earlier this morning.........

............When you set out to create a card, what do you start with first?  Do you have a specific stamp set in mind that you want to use?  Do you have a certain paper that you just bought and can't wait to cut into?  OR do you start with a sketch, like a sketch challenge and go from there?

Today, I started with the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge AND the Fanfare Level 2 Paper Pack.  I knew that I wanted to play with the Fanfare papers, but also wanted to try out the new sketch.  But when it came to the stamping......I had NO clue what I wanted to use with it.  Which then created a challenge for me to come up with a set that spoke to me.  As soon as I ran across this set in my boxes, I KNEW it was THE ONE!  It yelled at me......USE ME, USE ME!!  I know you know what I am talking about.  lol

I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this as I know everyone has a different way of creating that perfect card.......

Supplies used:
Paper: Fanfare Level 2 Paper Pack, Black CS, Sky CS and Pacifica CS
Stamp set: Childhood
Inks: Pacifica, Sky, Cranberry and Black
Embellishments: Cranberry Ribbon, Fanfare Level 2 Assortment
Tools: CTMH 2" Scalloped Circle Punch, SU! 1 3/4 Circle Punch

Thanks SO much for stopping by today!!

I hope that this has inspired you to pull out those papers that you purchased months ago but have not touched since the day you brought them home!

Happy Scrapping and Stamping!!!

March Swap Card ALMOST Complete!!

I say ALMOST because I still need to create 9 more of these cards.  I have everything cut and ready to be inked and adhered.  Well, I HAD everything ready until I come into my "play" space and see 4 of the flowers that I am going to use, on the floor with some of the petals NEXT to them.  NOT good!  I do have extra's that I can use so I am not too worried about it.  BUT I am not sure how they got on the floor in the first place, let alone how my sweet Sadie ate them without me noticing.  UUGGGHHH

Well, this is what I came up with on Saturday after my 18 page workshop that Kim held for her friends.  I actually had MOST of it together Saturday night.....I just had to put a few of the finishing details on it today.

The papers are from the CTMH paper pack Caboodle.  The stamp sets that I used are all CTMH, Welcome Baby, Childhood and Circle Around.  When the Welcome Baby stamp set came out, it was one of the first sets that i ordered from that Idea Book.  But, once I got it home and got it out to play with I had a really hard time figuring out what to do with it.  I thought I would pull it out again to see if I could create something to go on this card as I think these are the perfect colors for this set......to me!

I pulled out this circle template thingy that I bought for stitching or embellishment placement and used it for the paper piercing around the flower.  There is also prisma glitter on the dots going around the stamped saying from Childhood.  The ribbon is from the Sorbet Ribbon Round collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope that I have inspired you to get out one of those stamp sets that you just HAD to have but did not know what to do with once you got it......OR maybe I am the only one who does that!  LOL
