Mojo Monday Sketch Featuring Lizzie

Happy Monday!! Well, at least it is a happy Monday for me! Why? Because it is Mojo Monday, of course!! LOL Each Monday I cannot wait to check out what awesome sketch is to be discovered over at the Mojo Monday Sketch Blog to get my creative juices going. Really, I am being totally serious here!

For my card I chose Lizzie from InStyle Stamps. I am learning how to shade with my Copics and highlight with my white gel pen and am pretty tickled with how she turned out! I have not perfected staying in the lines with these markers yet, so I chose to emboss the image to create a barrier between colors. I LOVE the way it turned out and will be using this technique more often.

The papers I chose to use are from a 6x6 Basic Grey paper pack called Lilykate. I chose these because I had already colored the image and needed to find papers that matched! LOL

The supplies used for this card are:
Stamps: InStyle Stamps Lizzie, CTMH Say it in Style
Paper: Basic Grey Lilykate
Embellishments: Sparkles Chloe's Closet, Paper Flower, ribbon and cordoroy button CTMH
Ink: CTMH Lilac Mist

Hope this has inspired you to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch this week!

Stop back by to check out my FIRST Magnolia Stamps image! I can't wait to share!!

InStyle Stamps Sneak Peak!!

I would like to introduce you to Supermom! Isn't she just SUPER cute? She will be available to purchase on Wednesday April 1st over at InStyle Stamps. For another sneak peak and to see what's happening over at InStyle Stamps this week, visit the blog!

I have to tell you that I actually had a hard time trying to figure out how I wanted to color her Super outfit. I ended up doing a search for Super Hero costumes and decided on leaving her legs bare, therefore we have a sexy Supermom!!

Once I had her coloring down, I knew exactly which papers I was going to use for the card! I pulled out my CTMH Blue Ribbon paper pack and started playing. The background was made with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder and Outdoor Denim ink was swiped over the top and the edges.

I used my Copic markers to color the image, although it turned out ok, I know that it could look better if I would learn how to shade! I had just finished coloring the image and was getting ready to adhere the paper to the Outdoor denim mat when I smudged the White Daisy CS that Supermom was on. SOOOO I cut out Supermom and pop dotted her onto another piece of CS.

This is the sketch that I followed to create my card. I love the sketches that the Mojo Monday blog provides each week and try to play along when I can.

Supplies used:
Stamp: Supermom, InStyle Stamps
Paper: CTMH Blue Ribbon
Embellishments: Outdoor Denim and White Daisy ribbon, Cranberry brads and Cranberry button.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder

I hope this has inspired you in some way!

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to stop back again!

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!!!

Are you ready to have some fun today??? InStyle Stamps is having a super fun Blog Hop where you can get to know the Design Team AND win some blog candy!! Make sure to read all the way to the bottom to find out how to win some fantastic prizes!! Here is how you play along....

First, each of the DT has created a project using an InStyle Stamps image. It is your job to visit each of our blogs and head over to the ISS blog to vote for your favorite project! The DT member with the most votes wins a prize!! But that is NOT all. You also have a chance to win a prize just for voting. It really does NOT get any easier than that!

Here is my project: I used a 4x6 photo accessory keeper that I found at WalMart. I used the Willows digital download to create the "stems" for my flowers. I printed it out onto my paper, pierced holes in the stems and then used embroidery floss to fill in.

And for a view of one of the sides. All of the sides are the same.

Second, there will be a "Meet the DT Trivia" game for you to play along with. All you need to do is collect the answers to a list of questions about the DT and e-mail your answers to http://www.instylebloghop@aol.com/ by 10pm EST You will find the list of questions over at the InStyle Stamps forum under "At the Hop". Here are my questions and answers............

Finally getting back into the swing of things.....

WHEW!! I have been a busy girl the past week and a half! I am ready to settle back into my routine of doing NOTHING! LOL Unfortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon.....

I finally sat down today and actually played! I did not work on club pages.....although that is fun too! I needed to get my submission for InStyle Stamps in before I get kicked out of the DT!! LOL Seriously.....

I really liked the sketch from Taylored Expressions this last week. Sooo, this is what I based my card off of. Actually, if you go over to the Taylored Expressions blog, you will see a card that is very similar to mine. That is because I liked it so much that I made mine similar to it.

For my card, I used Yuki from InStyle Stamps. I REALLY LOVED working with this image!! I found this super cute paper stack from Basic Grey (GASP, I know it is NOT ctmh!) called urban prairie and used the patterned paper to paper piece the skirt and the top of the outfit on Yuki. I used my Copic markers to color the rest of the image.

I used black brads, black sparkles and Hollyhock buttons with waxy flax for accents. Of course I used the Scalloped Oval and Oval Nestabilities for the main image and my Stampin Up! scalloped punch for the border.

As I was finishing up the card, somehow I managed to smudge black ink onto the oval with the main image. But it is just going to have to stay that way because it would be way to much trouble to re-do it.

I hope that I have inspired, or at least given you a cute sketch to follow! LOL

Thanks for stopping by today!

Weekend Crop Triangle Treat Bag

I am making 9 of these treat bags for a crop that I am hosting this weekend. So, if you are attending my crop, this is one of the goodies that you will be receiving!! I only have to make 9 of these before Friday! This was actually pretty fun to make. I really like the papers from the CTMH

Boom-Di-Ada paper pack. This was new in the Summer 08 Idea Book and honestly I forgot how much I LOVED the colors and patterns in this paper pack. I will have to reacquaint myself with this paper pack this weekend and make some more pages with it!! LOL

The tutorial for this treat bag can be found at the InStyle Stamps Method Monday challenge for February 23rd. I changed the width on my treat bag so I could get more cuts from a 12x12. So, my dimensions are 4 x 11, instead of the 4 1/4 x 11. This way I could get 3 from a 12x12 instead of 2.

The treats that I will put in each bag will be different from what is shown in this sample bag. I just think it would be better to put something that is wrapped like Hershey's Kisses or something like that. I will be putting an individual stamp in a seperate little baggie like the one shown!

Supplies are mostly CTMH:
Paper: Boom-Di-Ada
Stamp set: Cottage Floral
Inks: Barn Red, Autumn Terracotta and Buttercup
Embellishments: Prisma Glitter
Punch: SU! scalloped border punch

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope that you have found inspiration in this little Triangle Treat Bag!!

Card for March unit swap!!

I have to say that I am so proud of myself for not waiting till the last day to figure out what I was going to make for my swap this month!! I actually knew 3 weeks ago what I was going to make!! I just did not start assembling until today! LOL Some habits are hard to break!!

For this swap we were to use That's Amore papers and colors and think outside of the box and not just think "Love" with this paper pack. I chose to make the 3 1/2 x 8 card. So, this is what I came up with..... a sparkly flower!! I just LOVE glitter!!! Notice that I put glitter on the brad in the center of the flower too!

To create the flower, I stamped the large flower in Blush ink then rolled the edges in Tulip ink. I repeated the process with the scalloped middle and for the green part I inked it in Garden Green and then rolled the edges in New England Ivy ink. After all was stamped, I cut out the large flower and then sponged the edges with Tulip ink to create a darker edge. I then used my Fine Ball Point Zig glue pen and went around the edges, the center and the brad and sprinkled Prisma Glitter to it all.

The stem of the flower was hand drawn on after I adhered the leaves and then hand stitched with Garden Green embroidery floss.

Supplies:
Stamps: CTMH Cottage Floral and Simple Stitches
Paper: CTMH That's AmoreInks: Blush, Tulip, Chocolate, Garden Green and New England Ivy
Embellishments: Prisma Glitter and Garden Green brad
Thanks for hanging in there with me and for stopping back to see if I have posted!!

Hope this inspired you in some way!!

OK......I know I have been a little quiet lately!

I just finished this card that I made for the Humble Artists swap that I participate in every 2 months. The guidelines for this month's swap were to make a 6x6 or 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card that needed to have an animal, an embossed image, at least 5 layers, a background stamp and at least 2 embellishments. I believe I have met all requirements. Now, I just need to make 4 more and send them off!! Vicki has a gorgeous card that she made for the Humble Artists swap also, so go check out Vicki's blog to see it! I have the real thing sitting right next to me and it is even MORE gorgeous in person!! Thanks Vicki!!!

I just can't get enough of this little bunny from CTMH's Bunny Love or the CTMH Creative Basics Emporium Collection!! I embossed the bunny with Versa Mark, Staz on and fine detail embossing powder on watercolor paper. I colored in with Bamboo, Desert Sand and Cocoa then used a blending pen to blend all. The 1/2 circles are Circle Window Charms with crystal blue cs and the circle inside is from the circle b&t from emporium.

I colored in the bubbles with Crystal Blue then used my glue pen to adhere Prisma Glitter. The tail is Liquid Applique. The scalloped circles are Nestabilities and the scalloped border is a SU! punch. All other supplies are ctmh. For the card sketch, I used CPS #97.

Supplies used:
Stamps: Intrinsic Backgrounds, Bunny Love
Paper: Creative Basics Emporium Collection
Embellishments: Heavenly Blue Ribbon Collection, Circle Window Charms, Prisma Glitter
Stampin' Up! scalloped edge punch, Circle Nestabilities

I hope that it is swapworthy!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

I hope that you have found inspiration in my creation!!

Jen :)
