Moonlight Puzzle Piece Card

Happy Thursday All!!!  I am finally getting around to "playing" with the AWESOME new Artiste Cricut Cartridge and am LOVING all the new features and functions that this cartridge has!!!  One of the SUPER COOL features on this cartridge is the Puzzle pieces.  There are several different ways to cut out these pieces...

For my card, I used the square that cuts out 4 puzzle pieces.  There is another square that cuts out MORE pieces, a rectangle that cuts out puzzle pieces AND a super cute border with puzzle pieces.  These could be used for cutting photos, used to piece backgrounds OR just have random puzzle pieces adhered to your pages or cards.

My card is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.  I cut one 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square 4 piece puzzle from the owl print and the same size square 4 piece puzzle from the dark Smokey Plum pattern.  This will actually make 2 cards when cut out and pieced together as you use 2 puzzle pieces per pattern per card.  Clear as mud?  LOL

The "sweet" little cupcake is from the stamp set "Pun Fun".  I stamped the image on my Colonial White card stock first, then stamped on 2 different patterned papers to create the cupcake paper and topping.  To finish it off, I added a little Liquid Applique and sprinkled a bit of Prisma Glitter then heated just till the Liquid Applique popped up, but NOT so the glitter dulls.

Bundled Buddies meets Wishes 16 Card Workshop

On to my art for today..... I created these cards a couple of weeks ago using the 16 card workshop in Wishes.  You use ONLY 3 sheets of B&T/Cardstock PLUS 16 pre-scored card bases.  I used Close to my Heart's pre-scored cards for my cards.  They come with 50 cards and 50 envelopes for just $14.95!

I absolutely LOVE the Bundled Buddies stamp set!!!  I fell in love with this set the first time I laid eyes on it in the Autumn/Winter Idea Book!  Of course, it only took me 3 months to use it.....lol.  Not sure why I was so afraid of it.  Once I started playing with it though, I just could not STOP!

The embellishments were kept to a minimum on these cards.  I used sparkles from the Clear Sparkles assortment and the Blue and Green Sparkle assortment.  The ribbon used is the Sweet Leaf bulk ribbon and Sweet Leaf ribbon from the Green Ribbon Assortment.  Liquid Glass and Prisma Glitter were used on the trees, hat tops and anything else fuzzy!  SO STINKIN' FUN to use!!

I hope that this has inspired you to use that Liquid Applique that you bought but have not used OR to go out and get some to add to your card making stash.  Try adding different glitters to it.....maybe add some colored glitter to the Liquid Applique before you heat it.  Think I will give it a try!

March Stamp of the Month: Sensational Season

I am in love with these bunnies!  They are SO precious and remind me of the bunnies in Peter Rabbit.  I guess that is why I colored the boy bunny blue.

This first card is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and the pattern can be found in the Wishes book.  The paper is again from the Creative Basics Wings Collection.  For both cards, the images were inked in VersaMark and Brown StazOn then embossed with Clear Detail Embossing Powder.  I used CTMH's Watercolor Pencils and Blending Pen to color them in.  If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you will be able to see the Liquid Applique that I used on the bunnies tails.  Love that stuff!!

This second card uses the papers from Miracle.  I just felt like these bunnies needed the green/blue tones with a darker brown as contrast.  Maybe because they are more earthy tones......in nature.  So tried to keep it softer and a bit more earthy.

OK......I know I have been a little quiet lately!

I just finished this card that I made for the Humble Artists swap that I participate in every 2 months. The guidelines for this month's swap were to make a 6x6 or 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card that needed to have an animal, an embossed image, at least 5 layers, a background stamp and at least 2 embellishments. I believe I have met all requirements. Now, I just need to make 4 more and send them off!! Vicki has a gorgeous card that she made for the Humble Artists swap also, so go check out Vicki's blog to see it! I have the real thing sitting right next to me and it is even MORE gorgeous in person!! Thanks Vicki!!!


I just can't get enough of this little bunny from CTMH's Bunny Love or the CTMH Creative Basics Emporium Collection!! I embossed the bunny with Versa Mark, Staz on and fine detail embossing powder on watercolor paper. I colored in with Bamboo, Desert Sand and Cocoa then used a blending pen to blend all. The 1/2 circles are Circle Window Charms with crystal blue cs and the circle inside is from the circle b&t from emporium.


I colored in the bubbles with Crystal Blue then used my glue pen to adhere Prisma Glitter. The tail is Liquid Applique. The scalloped circles are Nestabilities and the scalloped border is a SU! punch. All other supplies are ctmh. For the card sketch, I used CPS #97.

Hey there cupcake!! Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #51

I love sketch challenges, if you have not already noticed!! I have a list of blogs that I go through when I sit down to start a card. Once I have found the sketch that catches my eye, I get busy creating, or at least try to create! LOL I found this cute sketch over at Taylored Expressions and thought I would give it a shot. Here is the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #51.....

Here is my take on the challenge......For my card, I used the Key to my Heart paper pack (still available till the end of the month) and a new CTMH stamp set called Cupcake Sprinkles.


I stamped the cupcake top in Sorbet and put Liquid Applique over all and added Prisma Glitter to the top. After I took the heat gun to puff the Liquid Applique, I gently sponged Sorbet on to the top to give it a little color. For the cupcake bottom, I stamped the image with VersaMark and embossed it with Clear Detail Embossing Powder. I cut it out, took my Juniper marker to the lines and folded the edges in for dimension. Both pieces are pop dotted. The "stitching" around the card is a stamp from the Cupcake Sprinkles set.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #47

I LOVE the weekly sketch challenge over at the Taylored Expressions blog! If you are up for fun challenge, head on over and check it out! Once again, I don't have cupcakes on my card, but I did use this darling little lamb from the stamp set A Birthday Wish from CTMH!! I have been looking at this stamp set for some time now and finally broke down and bought it and now I wish I had not waited so long to purchase it! The patterned paper that I used is from the Key to my Heart paper pack.



I stamped the lamb onto Bamboo cardstock and then again onto Colonial White cardstock. I added Liquid Applique to the head of the Bamboo image and sponged it with Bamboo ink and added 2 black Bitty Brads for his eyes. I then cut around the mouth of the image stamped on colonial white, sponged the edges with bamboo ink and pop dotted it onto the bamboo image for dimension. I then cut out the body from the colonial white with the exception of the hands and feet and sponged it with bamboo ink and adhered. It is hard to tell from the picture, but I used my Stardust glitter pen on the necklace on the lamb. The flower in the lamb's hand was stamped onto colonial white and colored with Baby Pink marker, cut out and then adhered to his hand.

Last one I promise!!

I know, I know, I am getting tired of this paper pack too! BUT I do have 1 last card using the Everlasting papers to show you before I move on. In my search for all things crafty, I decided to locate a local Stampin' Up! demonstrator to see if I could find someone who held monthly classes. Yes, I know I am a consultant for Close to my Heart, but I find that both companies have awesome things to offer! Anyhoo, I found an amazingly talented demo that only lives a few blocks from me. Over the year that I have been going to her monthly card group I have learned soooo many cool techniques.


This brings me to the card that I made using Prismacolor Pencils and odorless paint thinner. If it had not been for Terri's card class, I would have never learned about this technique! The stamp set Bundled Up by ctmh has been one of my all time favorite stamp sets, but I am sad to say that it will be retiring as of December 31st 2008. If you like this set, hop on over to my website and buy it before it is gone forever!

The sketch that I used for this card is Beate's Weekend Challenge sketch #67 and I am sad to say that I followed her example pretty closely becuase I loved the way her card looked!

One more cool technique that I used with this card is Liquid Applique. This was my first attempt at using this stuff and let me tell you, it will NOT be the last! I wish you could see the fine details of the snow around the sled as it is actually raised and looks like they are really sledding through snow. Before I applied heat to the Liquid Applique, I sprinkled Prisma Glitter over it all to add a little sparkle to the snow.
