May Swap Circle Card

I totally forgot to share my swap card for May with you all!  I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.  I of course waited till the last 2 days before it was due to start working on it, so could have been even cuter if I had given myself a bit more time!  OH WELL.....when will I learn??

It is hard to tell from the above photo, but I pop dotted the circle AND the frog.  There is Liquid Glass on his eyes, spots on his legs and on the bee's wings.  OH and for those who are not too sure yet about the circle cards....I used the circle card template from the Wishes CD that is included with the Wishes book.  Which means that I printed a template, traced the template on 11 cards AND hand cut each one as I do not have a circle cutter that is 4 1/2 inches.  In an effort to cover up any irregularities in my cutting, I distressed the edges with CTMH's Edge Distresser.

I have to admit that while cutting out 11 frogs, 2 of them ended up with 1 less toe on one foot....OOPS!!

All supplies are CTMH:
Paper: Splendor with coordinating CS
Stamps: Hot Diggity, Intrinsic Backgrounds and Circle Around
Embellishments: Liquid Glass and Colonial White Crocheted Ribbon
Tools: CTMH Wishes CD for circle card Template and Nestabilities Circles.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hope that this has inspired you to get out your Liquid Glass and use it to accent your pages and cards!  This stuff is AWESOME and can be used for SO many different elements!

HAPPY SCRAPPING AND STAMPING!!

March Swap Card ALMOST Complete!!

I say ALMOST because I still need to create 9 more of these cards.  I have everything cut and ready to be inked and adhered.  Well, I HAD everything ready until I come into my "play" space and see 4 of the flowers that I am going to use, on the floor with some of the petals NEXT to them.  NOT good!  I do have extra's that I can use so I am not too worried about it.  BUT I am not sure how they got on the floor in the first place, let alone how my sweet Sadie ate them without me noticing.  UUGGGHHH

Well, this is what I came up with on Saturday after my 18 page workshop that Kim held for her friends.  I actually had MOST of it together Saturday night.....I just had to put a few of the finishing details on it today.

The papers are from the CTMH paper pack Caboodle.  The stamp sets that I used are all CTMH, Welcome Baby, Childhood and Circle Around.  When the Welcome Baby stamp set came out, it was one of the first sets that i ordered from that Idea Book.  But, once I got it home and got it out to play with I had a really hard time figuring out what to do with it.  I thought I would pull it out again to see if I could create something to go on this card as I think these are the perfect colors for this set......to me!

I pulled out this circle template thingy that I bought for stitching or embellishment placement and used it for the paper piercing around the flower.  There is also prisma glitter on the dots going around the stamped saying from Childhood.  The ribbon is from the Sorbet Ribbon Round collection.

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope that I have inspired you to get out one of those stamp sets that you just HAD to have but did not know what to do with once you got it......OR maybe I am the only one who does that!  LOL

First Circle Card EVER!!

I have not really been a big fan of the circle cards. I like the way they look and all, just was not sure what purpose they served! LOL Well, I chose to create a 4 1/2 inch circle card from Close to my Heart's card book "Wishes" as my swap card for December. This was a HUGE challenge for me, which is why I chose to make one.....

I thought that I would show you the progression of how my card came to be, or will be! The first card started out with just the lamp from the "Welcome Home" stamp set. The little squares around the edge are from the stamp set "Circle Around".

After completing this, I felt like something was missing. So, I went online to ask my fellow CTMH sistahs what they thought..... A few said something needed to be added to the left of the lamp, maybe the couch or the end table. A couple suggested adding random stamping to the blue cs. So, I did both....added a couch AND random stamping.

Now that I have it with and without the random stamping, I cannot decide which one I like the best. Any thoughts??

As I am posting these photos I am noticing that the cards are NOT straight.....kind of hard to do when dealing with a circle.....so please forgive the crookedness of the cards!

Well, I am off to watch My Sister's Keeper with my family! I hear it is really sad.......better go get the kleenex before I sit down.....

Hope to have inspired you to create your OWN circle card.....now that I have created one, I WILL be creating MANY more!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
